Our Mission Statement

Rabbit House Rescue helps domestic rabbits in need through sheltering, adoption, education, spay/neuter, and community outreach. We aim to promote and provide the resources, education, and programs. We will provide care, comfort, and compassion to rabbits in need and we seek to strengthen the human/rabbit bond.

Ruth Shannon - Executive Director

Animals have always been a huge part of Ruth’s life. From dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs all the way to mice. No matter what the type or size of animal they have all lead to Ruth’s passion for a rescue. Before domestic rabbits, Ruth rehabilitated many wild animals, from deer, raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, and birds and of course rabbits. She lives in a rural wooded area, which has allowed Ruth to make quite a special area for the bunnies to run, explore, play and colonize. We have rezoned the property, obtained permits and built structures, to house many rabbits and have official NON PROFIT status. Unfortunately, the need to rescue domestic rabbits now and in the future remains a necessity. We receive many requests and drop offs for a variety of bunnies on a regular basis.
